I'm looking to dive into Linux but I'm not sure whether to go with Linux Mint or Ubuntu. I've got an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU and an RX 6700 XT GPU, and I want to pick the one that works best with my setup. I'm completely new to Linux, so any advice would be appreciated!

I'd say go for Mint. It's typically recommended for newbies and should work perfectly with your hardware setup. Plus, it has a user-friendly interface that makes the transition easier for those unfamiliar with Linux.

Both options are solid! If one doesn't suit you, just give the other a try. It's all about what feels right for you!

Mint gets my vote too! It's a simplified version of Ubuntu, which is great for beginners. You'll likely have a smooth experience without too much hassle.

Mint and Ubuntu are quite similar since Mint is based on Ubuntu. But keep in mind, if you're leaning towards Ubuntu, it might be because of its support for things like GNOME and Snap applications, although some folks prefer not to rely on a single provider for Linux software.

Thanks for the insight! I'll weigh the GNOME vs Mint desktop environments more carefully.

I prefer Ubuntu myself, mainly because I like the GNOME desktop environment and the Snap package system. It's nice having everything managed centrally, but I know that might not be for everyone.
