I've been using Linux Mint as a live ISO for repairs, but I've been facing issues with it. Specifically, the Mint live environment doesn't fully recognize my screen, setting the brightness to maximum, which causes me a lot of strain and headaches. The problem resolves once I install Mint and switch to the mainline kernel, but I need a reliable live ISO that works well for repairs. Any suggestions for a good distro that won't have these issues?

Have you thought about the reasons you keep needing repairs when trying out different distros? I've had to troubleshoot before when my system froze up or when I needed tools like GParted. It's handy to have a live distro handy for those unexpected problems. Just a thought!
You might want to check out Rescuezilla and SystemRescue. I have both on my Ventoy stick, and they’re specifically designed for situations like yours. Rescuezilla is pretty comprehensive, while SystemRescue has good tools too and allows you to adjust the brightness to a more comfortable level. Give them a shot!
You could also check out the distro selection page in our wiki for more options. It might help you find a live ISO that suits your needs better. And remember to back up your stuff regularly and try things out in a VM when you can!
