Which Motherboard is Best for Long-Term Durability in My Build?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my motherboard, CPU, and RAM. I'm currently using an FX-3600 CPU, a GA-970A-DS3P motherboard, and DDR3 RAM. I don't need to boost my performance since I'm happy with what I have, but I want to upgrade now in case my CPU breaks, as replacements might not be easy to find later on.

I've been considering the AMD Ryzen 5 4500 as it's more powerful, which would also allow me to get better RAM. I'm really just wondering what motherboard I should pick that will be durable enough to last for several years without breaking down or aging too quickly. Any suggestions?

For durability, most AM4 motherboards are decent unless there's a significant defect issue. Just check what features you absolutely need, and go for the brand you trust or the best price you find. Honestly, they're all pretty good and you shouldn't run into a 'bad' motherboard these days!

Do you know if different motherboards consume different amounts of energy?

You might want to consider looking for any AM4 motherboards that fit your budget! If you need specific features like Wi-Fi or overclocking capabilities, make sure to filter for those. A B-series board is usually a safer bet than A-series if you want more adjustability. Just find the features you care about and sort by price to keep things simple!

In my area, the 5500 costs more than that. But honestly, my current CPU is doing just fine for what I need, so I'm fine with whatever is the best deal.
