I'm looking for advice on choosing a motherboard for my new build with an AMD 9800X3D processor and a 5080 graphics card. I have two options in mind: the ASUS B650E-E TUF Gaming WiFi AM5 and the MSI X670E-P PRO WIFI AMD AM5. The MSI option is priced at $50 more. I noticed that the ASUS has a 5-year warranty now. Can anyone help me decide between the two?

I have the ASUS B650 TUF and it's performing like a champ! My 9800X3D is overclocked and undervolted, and I've used both the 5080 and 5090 with it too. Honestly, it just comes down to which aesthetics you prefer and the connectivity options. If the extra $50 means a lot to you, it’s worth considering.

I've had bad experiences with MSI boards, so I personally lean towards ASUS. However, I know some folks swear by MSI. Maybe check with local shops, like Micro Center, to see if they offer any combo deals or if their staff can provide insights.

I don't trust MSI anymore; all my recent boards from them have been problematic. Meanwhile, I've had solid experiences with ASUS products. But I get it, people have different experiences!

I've been using the MSI X670E Tomahawk and it's been fantastic with my 9800X3D and 5080 setup, so I'd recommend it if you're leaning towards MSI. Just make sure you're comfortable with the BIOS flash on the 600-series boards.
