Which Motherboard Should I Get for My Ryzen 5600?

Hey everyone! I'm new to building PCs and I've just ordered a Ryzen 5 5600. However, I'm having trouble finding a motherboard that's natively compatible with it. I was looking at the MSI A520M PRO, but I heard it might not have the right BIOS updated. I'm aiming to keep my budget under €90, but I don't have an extra CPU to update the BIOS myself. What do you suggest I do?

Also, I found a Gigabyte A520M-K-V2 that has a 'Ryzen 5000 ready' label. Does that mean I wouldn't need to do any BIOS updates? Any advice would be appreciated!

Check out eBay for the AM4 board you want, used. Just ask the seller to confirm the BIOS version first; you can probably grab one with the right version for around £40.

About that Gigabyte board with the 'Ryzen 5000 ready' label, yes, it should work right out of the box!

Thank you! That helps a lot!

Your Ryzen 5 5600 isn't that new anymore; it came out about three years ago. So, if you buy a 500-series motherboard today, it should support your CPU without any BIOS updates — that was a concern only right after its release.

Oh really? Are you sure? I thought there could still be some boards that didn't get updated since then.
