Hey folks! I'm currently putting together a gaming PC and I'll also be using it for animations in Blender and game design in Unity and Unreal Engine. I'm looking to play a variety of games like COD, Battlefield, iRacing, Assetto Corsa Competizione, DCS, Starfield, Manor Lords, EVE Online, Hell Let Loose, ARMA, Bellwright, and more.
Here's what I have or plan to get for my build:
- NZXT H9 Flow Case (Have)
- MSI X870E MAG Tomahawk Wifi AMD ATX (Have)
- AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D (Getting)
- Samsung 990 Pro 2TB (Getting)
- Crucial Pro Overclocking 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000 (Getting), possibly x2 for a total of 64GB.
Now, I'm stuck on which GPU to go for. I'm not keen on spending a fortune on the 5090 or even the 5080, but I'm eyeing the 5070 or 5070 TI. Do you think those would be powerful enough for my needs?

The 5080 is an excellent choice if your budget allows for it, especially depending on your gaming resolution. However, you can’t go wrong with the 5070 TI; it’s a solid card for the price. It might handle your gaming and Blender tasks just fine, but if you plan on pushing really high settings, you might want to consider the 5080 after all.
Few things to consider: your RAM choice might not be the best since that brand is leaving the consumer market. The Samsung 990 Pro has also raised some concerns with overheating. For your CPU, if you aren’t aiming for 4K, you might want to look at something more budget-friendly. It sounds like a solid build otherwise!
If you're planning to work in 4K or do heavy lifting in Blender, you might want to think about a higher series like the 90 series. However, if you're just doing this as a hobby and not pursuing 4K ultra settings, the 5070 TI should serve you well.
