Which PSU Should I Go For: ATX 2.X Tier A+ or ATX 3.1 Tier A?

I'm looking to buy a power supply unit (PSU) for my PC and I'm debating between two options that are both priced the same at 108 Euros. One is the Lian Li EDGE Gold 850W, which is ATX 3.1 and rated Tier A. The other option is the Corsair RM1000x 1000W, which is ATX 2.X but has a higher Tier A+ rating. I currently have an RTX 5070 GPU, and even a 650W PSU would be enough for now. However, I want to be future-proof since I plan to upgrade my components a few times over the next 6-7 years. Would love to know which one you would recommend! I opted for the ATX 3.1 PSU in the end, but I'd like to hear your thoughts on these options.

You might want to lean towards the ATX 3.1 PSU. It has stricter standards and better efficiency. Plus, your GPU is designed to work with the newer 12V-2x6 cable that comes with it, so it makes more sense to go with the Lian Li. Why settle for older tech when you can get something that's better suited for your current and future upgrades?

That’s good advice! It seems like the ATX 3.1 is more aligned with modern components.
