I'm in the process of building my PC and I've already got a powerful 3080ti. I'm considering getting a 9700x CPU or something similar. Both the 6000MHz CL30 RAM and the 8000MHz CL38 RAM are priced similarly in my area, but I'm confused about which one to choose. Some say that 6000MHz is the ideal speed for my setup and that any improvements from the faster RAM aren't worth the cost. But since the prices are close, I'm wondering if the 8000MHz RAM might still be a better option, especially since it has a higher frequency. What do you all think? Am I better off with the 6000MHz CL30 RAM?

I'd stick with the 6000MHz RAM. A lot of users find that the 8000MHz option just isn't stable with Ryzen setups and you'll likely encounter issues. The 6000MHz at CL30 is definitely a sweet spot. It's reliable and gives solid performance without the hassle of instability.
You might get lucky with the 8000MHz, but it's a gamble unless that specific RAM is on your motherboard's compatibility list. On an AMD system, you're mostly going to see differences in benchmarks, not real-world performance, so it might not be worth the risk.
Yeah, if you can get 6000MHz for the same price, go for it! The faster 8000MHz RAM might not work well for most users, and the lower latency of the 6000MHz RAM is a nice bonus. It's generally just a safer bet overall.

Yeah, that makes sense. I wonder if the price is similar because of that reliability issue, even though the specs look better on paper.
