I'm currently building a PC and trying to decide between two SSDs: the Samsung 990 Pro 2 TB and the Silicon Power UD90 2 TB. They seem very similar aside from the brand, but the Samsung costs $160 while the Silicon is only $96. Is there a significant difference, or am I just paying extra for the Samsung brand?

The Samsung 990 Pro is really top-notch among Gen4 drives, mainly due to its DRAM which boosts performance. If you're looking for something more affordable, I'd recommend considering the Samsung 990 Evo Plus or the WD SN7100. Both offer great performance and are cheaper than the Pro series compared to the UD90.

I appreciate the advice! But how do you determine which ones perform better? Are there benchmark tests or something?
