Hey everyone, I'm in the market for an SSD and I'm stuck deciding between a few options. The choices are: a used Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1 TB, a used Crucial T500 with a heatsink 2 TB, and a new SN 770 2 TB. They're all priced similarly in my area, so I'm curious if it's better to go with a well-known brand with less storage or opt for a larger, newer model. Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

Honestly, Samsung SSDs can be overpriced. You might not notice a big performance difference. I’d suggest going for a new drive like the SN 770 for the extra space and peace of mind with a warranty.
If you’re leaning toward a new drive, the Western Digital SN770 2 TB is a great deal! It gives you more storage and is reliable at the same price point. Definitely worth considering.
I’d recommend the SN 770 2 TB unless the Crucial T500 has SMART data showing it’s in great health, like 98% or more. The SN 770 is a solid choice; it’s new and performs well, even without DRAM! It's a good option if you want reliability.
I've got the 990 Evo Plus. Initially, I faced some issues, like needing to reseat it, but it’s been fast overall. Yet, I wouldn't say it’s worth the hassle given the price.
It really depends on what you need it for. If it's your main drive, go for one with DRAM. If it's a secondary drive, like for storage, then the cache isn't as crucial. Just think about what will work best for you!

Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately, I can't check the T500's data, but the SN770 shows 100% health, so it seems like a safe pick.
