Why Am I Being Forced to Use the New Outlook?

I just received a notice at work that after closing Outlook, it will automatically switch to 'Outlook New' the next time I open it. I managed to revert back to the old version for a bit, but now I can only receive emails in the new version. A few months ago, I created a registry key to prevent auto-migration, located at: ComputerHKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftOffice16.0OutlookOptionsGeneral. The keys are: DoNewOutlookAutoMigration=0, NewOutlookAutoMigrationStage=7, and NewOutlookAutoMigrationType=1. I thought those settings would stop the switch, but clearly, they didn't work. Does anyone know why this is happening? Am I really being forced to use the new version? I also tried creating a new profile, but the problem persists.

The new Outlook might be your only option soon. If you're missing features like custom subfolder ordering or shared mailboxes, check if they’ve been added recently since it keeps getting updates. The old version might not last much longer!

Honestly, it might be time to accept the switch. The new Outlook isn't as bad as it seems. Most issues I faced have been resolved, except for the webview needing constant updates.

Looks like MS eventually ignores the registry keys designed to delay updates. You can’t really put off the changes forever; it seems they’re pushing for the new version to become the standard.
