Why Am I Experiencing FPS Drops in Some Games on My New High-End PC?

Hey everyone! I need some help because I've been struggling with this frustrating issue for the past two months. My brand new high-end PC (just two months old) is dropping to low FPS, creating a weird "slow-motion" effect in certain games for about a second every 20 seconds. This happens in games like Call of Duty, Baldur's Gate 3, and Dead Space, but not in League of Legends or NBA 2K25, which is odd. Here are my specs: Ryzen 9 5900X CPU, NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti GPU, 32GB of RAM, and I've tried both Windows 11 and Windows 10. I've reinstalled GPU drivers, formatted my PC, switched Windows versions, updated BIOS, and adjusted graphics settings, but nothing seems to fix the issue. It's really puzzling why it only affects some games. Any advice or suggestions on what I might be missing? I've even shared video clips showing the problem, but I'm still at a loss. Thanks a ton!

It sounds like a frustrating issue! Sometimes, specific games may not optimize well with certain hardware, and it can lead to performance problems like FPS drops. Have you tried lowering the graphics settings in those problematic games? It can make a big difference! Also, some users have reported that programs running in the background, like screen recording software, can hog resources. If you’re using Medal for sharing clips, you might want to disable it while gaming to see if that helps.

Yeah, I agree! I had similar issues in the past and noticed that background applications really affected my gaming performance. Worth a shot!
