Why Am I Getting a Black Screen When Starting Games?

Every time I try to launch a game on my Windows 11 PC, I get a black screen. I just updated my NVIDIA drivers about 10 minutes ago, but it seems like the problem might be limited to games on Steam since I don't have any others installed. I've already tried resetting my PC, but that didn't help. Does anyone have suggestions on how to troubleshoot this issue?

Did the black screen issue start happening after you updated your drivers? If it did, consider rolling back to the previous version of the driver to see if that resolves the problem.

It would help if you listed your full PC specs. For instance, let us know the make and model of your laptop, as that can influence how games perform. Just to clarify, are you playing on your laptop's screen or an external monitor?

I'm using the ASUS TUF Gaming F15 FX506_HC laptop.

Got it! It sounds like there might be a display issue, especially if the game runs fine on the built-in screen but not on the external one.
