Why Am I Getting Emails from Microsoft About My Firewall Being Off?

I received an email from [email protected] stating that my PC security software or firewall is turned off. The email suggests contacting my system administrator and mentions that replying is not an option. We only have Windows Defender running, so no other security software is installed. The email cc'd my sys admin's correct email and included all the right details about our PC, like the OS, serial number, device name, and model number. It doesn't seem like a phishing attempt to me. Has anyone else received something like this? What could be going on?

It sounds fishy, but can you share the sanitized headers of that email? Usually, scam emails are pretty obvious, and Microsoft rarely sends out alerts like this. Just to be safe, you might want to check those headers to confirm its authenticity.

The subject line was something like '(Company name) security notification' and included 'Security Violation Regarding Antivirus Software and Firewall.' The footer had a link to their privacy statement and the usual Microsoft address. I don't think there's anything weird about it.
