Hey everyone! I currently have an RTX 4060 Ti graphics card, but I'm not getting the FPS I expected in most games. Here are my specs: RTX 4060 Ti on an i5 13400 F CPU, MSI PRO B760-P WIFI motherboard, a Samsung 980 PRO SSD with a heatsink, and XPG Gammix D30 RAM (2x8GB DDR4 at 3600MHz). My monitor is 27 inches and 2K resolution. I'm playing CS2 on the lowest settings at 1280x960, but I'm only averaging around 200-230 FPS. What's going on?

I have a similar setup, but I use a 9800X3D and tested CS2 with varying results. I'm planning to play it today, so I'll let you know how I perform at 2K resolution.
It sounds like you're experiencing a CPU bottleneck. Your CPU might just not be able to process the high frame rates you're aiming for in CS2. Upgrading your CPU could help if you're looking for that extra FPS.
Exactly! You need a CPU that matches your desired frame rate to prevent bottlenecks. For reference, I play with a 3070 and an older 4770K and still manage to hit 60 FPS, but I play on a 4K 60Hz monitor, so I'm fine with the cap.
I've checked some bottleneck calculators, and they're showing no issue for my setup, so I'm confused.
My setup is pretty close to yours, with an i5 12400F, but I see some FPS drops in CS2, as low as 180. I just upgraded to an i5 14600KF, but I'm still facing dips due to motherboard limitations. Might need a better board soon!
What resolution are you playing at?
Are you sure V-Sync is turned off? Sometimes it can limit your FPS, even if all settings are set to low.
Nope, it's off! I’ve got everything set to the lowest.
Have you tried using DLSS or FSR? Those can really help boost performance without sacrificing too much quality.
Any specific settings you recommend?
This seems pretty normal for those settings. At low resolutions, the CPU and RAM are more critical than the GPU, so it’s worth looking into those components.
Looking forward to hearing your results! I'm currently playing at 4:3, 1280x960.
