Why Am I Getting Lower FPS Than Expected on My New PC?

Hey everyone! I just built my first gaming PC after checking out a bunch of reviews and guides, and I went for the best specs I could afford. However, I'm running into some issues: my FPS is much lower than I thought it would be, and there are some pretty drastic drops, especially during multiplayer games. My CPU usage seems really high, while my GPU is only hitting around 60-70%. Here's what my setup looks like: an i5-12400 CPU, an RTX 4060 GPU, 32 GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 650W PSU. Any thoughts on what might be causing these issues?

First off, what resolution are you gaming at? The i5-12400 and RTX 4060 can start to bottleneck if you're playing at higher than 1080p.

I'm actually playing at 1080p with medium settings optimized for my Nvidia card.

It's also worth checking what in-game settings you're using. If you're playing "esports" titles, they often lean more on the CPU because they usually have less demanding visuals. Plus, make sure to enable XMP in your BIOS so your RAM runs at the correct speed. This can really make a difference!

Yeah, the frame rates can really be affected based on the game and your specific settings. Try lowering some graphics settings and see if it improves. Plus, remember that in multiplayer, a lot of action can strain your CPU more, causing FPS drops.
