Why am I getting only 70-160 FPS in Roblox with a decent PC?

I've got a solid gaming setup with an R5 9600X processor, a Gigabyte 5070 graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 RAM running at 6400MHz, and a Gen 2 NVMe SSD. My temperatures stay below 50°C, and even though I can push higher frame rates in games like BeamNG Drive on ultra settings, I'm only seeing 70-160 FPS in Roblox. I find it surprising since a friend of mine with a 3090 is hitting around 240 FPS. Shouldn't my 5070 be doing better?

Roblox isn't the best optimized game out there, and getting 70-160 FPS isn't terrible, honestly. Have you tried closing any background programs that might be affecting performance? Also, adjusting your in-game settings could help you reach a higher frame rate. Just keep in mind that hitting more FPS than your monitor's refresh rate won't really change your experience. And yeah, it's pretty normal for a 3090 to outpace a 5070 in terms of FPS.

True, but I wouldn't be surprised if your friend was stretching the truth about their FPS. Remember, benchmarks show that the 5070 can outshine the 3090 or 3090ti in a lot of games, so there might be some wiggle room there.

Seriously, are you considering switching to mobile gaming? That seems drastic!

I literally mentioned I have a 5070, so mobile isn’t an option for me.
