Why Are My 1% Lows So Low in CS2?

I'm experiencing frustratingly low 1% lows in Counter-Strike 2, and I'm not sure if it's the game's optimization or my hardware. My average FPS is around 400–500 at 1080p on a 240Hz monitor, but my 1% low drops down to 200 during intense moments, like holding an angle or entering gunfights. It can really throw off my gameplay. Here are my specs if it helps: RTX 5070 TUF, i5 14600KF, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz RAM, MSI Z690 P Pro motherboard, Aorus X240 AIO cooler, a WD Black SN770 1TB SSD, and a Crucial P2 1TB SSD. Any tips to improve my situation?

Capping your FPS to something your system can consistently handle is a good strategy. Uncapping it can push your CPU and GPU to their limits, which often leads to stuttering and those annoying frame drops.

If you set up G-Sync correctly, it might really help with those low frame rates. People keep downvoting me for saying this, but I swear it makes a noticeable difference. Otherwise, Valve wouldn’t have added the option in the settings! G-Sync at 240Hz can feel smoother than just shooting for 500+ FPS.

Unfortunately, my monitor doesn’t support G-Sync, and I heard it can introduce some latency, which I’m not keen on.
