I recently reapplied thermal paste on my CPU, thinking it would help with performance, but now my CPU temps and usage are actually higher than before, while my GPU temps and usage have dropped. I'm using a Ryzen 5 5600X with a 9070 GPU. Oddly enough, despite the CPU working harder, my frame rates have taken a hit. I've triple-checked the thermal paste application and cooler seating, and nothing seems to have changed. Any insights would be awesome!

Do you have the exact temperature readings? You mentioned that your CPU was around 55 to 58 degrees, but now it’s hitting 65. That can be fine, but it’s good to look at all the factors.
Just so you know, some thermal pastes need a break-in period. This means that they might perform worse for a few days or even up to a month before hitting their peak efficiency.
It would help to know why you decided to change the thermal paste in the first place. Were your temps unusually high before? Also, what type did you switch from and to?
It’s also worth ensuring that when you remounted your cooler, it was done evenly. Uneven pressure can lead to inefficient cooling, which might explain the temperature rise.
Make sure you’re checking both core temperatures and clock speeds. Sometimes, the higher temps are due to certain cores working harder than others.
