I've got a 40GB update that says it'll take between 9 to 11 hours to finish. I'm using an ethernet cable, and no other devices are connected to the Wi-Fi. My ISP says I should be getting around 77 Mbps, and I did a complete factory reset on my PC about a month ago. I'm not sure what the issue could be. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Just a heads up, 77 Mbps isn't as fast as it sounds. That converts to about 9.625 megabytes per second. To improve your speeds, you might consider upgrading your plan with your ISP or switching to a different provider that offers faster speeds. You could also be limited by the bandwidth allocated by the server you're downloading from.
Pause the download and check your task manager under the network tab. See if anything else is using bandwidth. If something is, head to the app history tab and sort by network usage to identify the culprit.
First things first, try restarting both your router and modem. If that doesn't help, double-check that your ethernet cable is a gigabit one and not an older type. Also, make sure there aren’t any background applications using up your bandwidth. Sometimes, ISPs throttle connections too.
There are a couple of things to look into. First, try connecting your laptop directly to the router with an ethernet cable. If the problem persists, your ISP plan might not offer enough bandwidth or your router may be outdated. Another option is to manually change your router's Wi-Fi channel to one that’s less crowded, as routers often automatically switch channels based on interference.
If you're using an ethernet cable, then your Wi-Fi speed isn't the problem. Your connection speed from your ISP and the speed of the server you’re downloading from are what matter. The fluctuations you see from 10 to 70 Mbps explain why it’s taking so long to download that update. If a speed test shows you’re getting your rated speeds, the server may simply be overloaded or throttling your connection.
