I've got a fiber internet connection and just did a speed test with results showing 731.88 Mbps. Despite that, when I try to download PS1 games, my speeds drop to about 2 MB or even less per second. I've reset my DNS, restarted my Ethernet and WiFi, and ensured that nothing is throttling my connection. What can I do to fix this issue?

Honestly, if you're downloading from certain sites, they often throttle their speeds to avoid overwhelming their servers. It’s unfortunate, but you might just be hitting against their limits. In short, your connection is fine; it’s more about where you’re downloading from that’s causing the issue.
The upload speed of the server can really impact what you experience. If you're grabbing files from less reliable sites, slow speeds are common. Contrast that with bigger platforms like Google Drive, which usually offer faster downloads. The response from the server really matters here!
I see what you mean, thanks for the clarification!
Your slow download speeds are likely due to the source of the PS1 games you’re trying to download. Many of these sites intentionally limit speeds for their users. Try different sources to see if that makes a difference. I bet you'll find that your connection is just fine!
Thanks for the advice! I'll look into other platforms.
Check if the site you're downloading from can actually handle higher speeds. Just because your speed test is high doesn’t mean every website can match that. Sometimes, the server you're downloading from will limit the speed to manage traffic, especially if it's a less reputable source.
Exactly! If my download was from a slower site, I wouldn't expect great speeds either.

That makes sense; I've been trying to download from some sketchy sites!
