I recently upgraded my CPU in my HP Pavilion from a Ryzen 2400G to a Ryzen 2700X. I confirmed that my motherboard is compatible, but I'm experiencing significant lag and crashes only when gaming. Here's what I'm working with: CPU: 2700X, RAM: 8GB, GPU: RTX 3050 low profile. Any ideas on why this is happening?

Make sure to check for updates from HP for your prebuilt system. Specifically, you should be looking for AMD chipset drivers, as they can affect performance. Installing the latest drivers directly from AMD's website might also help. Here’s the link where you can find them: https://www.amd.com/en/support/download/drivers.html
One of the best ways to tackle stuttering in games is to upgrade your RAM to 16GB. Moving to 2x8GB sticks would really help with performance issues. It made a noticeable difference for me after an upgrade!
I actually have some RAM on order; they should arrive later this month!

I just found some BIOS updates and I'm working on that now!
