Hey everyone! I'm having a strange issue—after booting up my PC today, none of my startup applications like Discord and Steam are launching, except for Bluetooth and the Nvidia app. I'm currently on Windows 11, version 25H2, and everything was starting up just fine yesterday. If anyone has any idea why this is happening, I'd really appreciate your help!
Here's what I've tried so far:
- Running sfc /scannow
- Using the Restorehealth command
- Performing a Windows update repair
- Disabling and re-enabling startup apps through Task Manager and settings
- Deleting certain registry keys related to startup approvals
Thanks in advance for any insights!

If you deleted the startup keys in the registry, it should allow the apps to be re-approved. However, if they’re still not starting, it may be a sign of a deeper system issue. You might want to consider restoring previous system settings if backups are available.
Have you tried restarting your PC multiple times? Sometimes the startup apps might occasionally work after a reboot but not on every boot. It’s also good to make sure that the settings for your startup apps in Task Manager look correct.
It might be worth checking if there was a recent Windows update that messed with your startup settings. Sometimes updates can cause apps to behave unexpectedly. You can check the change logs for any updates installed recently and see if anything stands out.

Yeah, I checked, and the last major update was a preview update from February 2026. Other than that, it was just a security update for the antivirus. My system seems fine otherwise.
