I've been struggling with the transfer speeds from my QNAP TR004 DAS to my Synology NAS. It takes over a day to move 1TB of data, and the speed hovers around 40 MB/s. My QNAP connects via USB-C directly to the motherboard, while my Synology Diskstation is set up with a 10GB Ethernet card through a Ubiquiti switch to my motherboard's 10GB port, which seems to be working fine. I primarily use the Synology NAS as my main work drive and the QNAP DAS for archiving to save space, but the transfer process is painfully slow. Does anyone have suggestions on how to improve this?

It sounds like you're actually having issues with the USB-C cable you were using. It's a good idea that you replaced it since that can really bottleneck the speed. After changing the cable, it seems like your speed shot up to 186 MB/s. Just shows how important proper cables can be in a setup like yours!
Have you checked if the slow transfer speeds are unique to that specific connection or if it’s a general issue with writes to the Synology? Sometimes if you're pushing a lot of data, it can start slow but may speed up after you get past the initial batch. By the way, what kind of drives do you have in the Synology? Certain SSDs can write really quickly initially due to their cache, but slow down once it's full, especially if you’re using something like the Crucial BX-series. Just curious about your setup!
