I've encountered a peculiar issue at work. One of our employees has a new iMac, and every time she sends out Pages files, they arrive at the recipients as zip files, even though she's sending them as standard Pages documents. Interestingly, when she sends the same document from her iPad, it goes through without any issues. This zip file conversion happens regardless of the recipient's operating system, and I've tried sending the same document from my Mac Air, which works perfectly fine. I'm baffled and haven't found a solution yet.

It sounds like there might be a setting in the Mail app on her iMac. Sometimes, if the sending app is set to share files instead of send them, it can result in the files being zipped. Check if she's using the built-in Mail app, and make sure she is directly attaching the Pages document instead of using some kind of share option.
This could be related to a feature in macOS that deals with file sharing. When you choose to send a file, it might not actually be sending it directly; rather, it could be sharing it over the network, causing the file to be zipped. I'd suggest verifying how she's sending the document and making sure it's not just sharing it. Also, she might want to check the settings around attachments!
