I've been compiling a list of PC parts I want to use for my new build, but I'm really bummed about the prices here in Australia. They're crazy! I'm trying to create a PC that can outperform my PS5 (which I currently own) with a budget of $1500, but the total always comes to over $1800. I'm starting to think about just sticking with my console, even though the online subscription fees are frustrating. I mainly want to game and do some programming. Consoles are heavily subsidized by the manufacturers since they make their money off subscriptions and game sales. So you can't really compare the price of a PC directly to a console. PCs typically come with ongoing costs for upgrades and accessories.
Your build looks solid, but yeah, RAM prices are all over the place right now. It's been more expensive than usual lately. PC gaming has always been pricier than console gaming, but it comes down to having a larger game library and not needing subscriptions for online play. It's a trade-off!
Have you checked out pre-built PCs in Australia? Sometimes they can end up being cheaper than building your own, especially with current prices. In the US, for example, that's often the case!
