I've been having a frustrating issue with my laptop keyboard where specific keys like Tab, 1, Esc, ~, and Q stop working altogether when the keyboard gets hot. This doesn't seem to be a temporary problem because after plugging in a different keyboard and using those keys, my laptop's keyboard starts functioning normally again. It's strange how the '1' key doesn't work, but the '!' key does, and I have to hold the Shift key to type some characters.
I've done a bunch of troubleshooting, including cleaning the keyboard, reinstalling the drivers, and checking toggle keys, but nothing has fixed the issue. I've only been using this laptop for less than two years with no physical damage, so I'm at a loss about why these specific keys keep failing. I'm looking for any explanations and additional tips to resolve this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It sounds like you might be dealing with a hardware issue, especially if the problem happens when your laptop is under heavy load, like while using Blender or playing games. A good test would be to boot using an Ubuntu live USB. If the keys fail in Ubuntu too, it's likely a hardware problem, and you should consider getting the keyboard replaced or checking if it's still under warranty. If they work fine in Ubuntu, then it's more likely a software issue, and a clean Windows reinstall could help.
That's a smart way to isolate the problem. I’d like to know how the Ubuntu testing goes!
You're definitely not alone in this! I've got an HP Envy as well, and I’ve faced similar issues with certain keys not responding, which is super annoying when you're typing important stuff. I've given up trying to find a perfect solution and now just use a Bluetooth keyboard as a workaround, but I understand the struggle—it can be really frustrating! Good luck trying to figure it out!
Have you considered replacing your keyboard? If a USB keyboard works fine, it could signal that there's an issue with the internal one.

I see what you mean! I’ve noticed the same thing when I stress my laptop with heavy applications. I want to try the Ubuntu live USB method as well, but could you guide me on how to use it properly?
