Why Are There Two Program Files (x86) Folders in My Setup?

I just built a new desktop PC with three SSDs labeled C:, D:, and E:. The C: drive has Windows 11 and all the system files, including the Program Files (x86) folder. D: is completely empty, but I'm puzzled because E: seems to have system files like PerfLogs and Program Files (x86) that also exist on C:. I can't delete these files from E: since it says they're in use. Can anyone explain why this is happening?

It sounds like when you installed Windows, you had all your drives connected. Windows tends to pick a secondary drive for some system files which could explain why you're seeing those files on E:. A good tip is to reinstall Windows with only the C: drive connected, and once that's done, you can reconnect the other drives. This should prevent extra system files from popping up on them.

Thanks for the advice! Just to clarify, is it common practice to set up a PC like that with only one SSD and then add more after installing?
