Why Can Some PCs Ping Local Servers While Others Can’t?

I've set up a couple of local forward lookup zones, and everything was working smoothly until recently. For some unknown reason, certain PCs are able to ping the servers in these zones, while others simply can't, even though they seem to have the same setup—same OS and network settings. For example, PC1 can ping both server1.zone1.com (10.x.x.x) and server2.zone2.com (168.x.x.x) using the FQDN, but PC2 can only ping server1. Both PCs are located in zone1. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

It seems like you've got a DNS issue in your DomainDNSZones or ForestDNSZones in Active Directory. I've seen a similar situation come up a few times lately. You might want to check the configurations in your chat history; it's possible you just need to make a small adjustment. A fresh look can help, too!

Thanks, I'll take another look at it and see if anything jumps out.
