I tried logging into my old Gmail account, but I received a message saying **"Couldn't find your Google Account."** So, I figured I could just recreate it. However, when I tried to sign up with the same username, I got a message saying **"That username is taken."** It's confusing because Google says my account doesn't exist, yet it also says the username is already in use. Can anyone explain what's going on or help me out?

I get where you’re coming from! If your account has been inactive, it’s a common issue. However, once it’s been inactive for too long, recovering it may not be possible. You might want to try contacting Google support, but don’t hold your breath for a quick fix.
It sounds like your account might be dormant or inactive. Google can sometimes block accounts after a long period of inactivity—like around 10 years. Unfortunately, they usually won’t let you access it again if it’s been blocked for that long.
