I'm having a frustrating issue with a file that won't delete. Whenever I try to remove it, I get an error that says, 'This action can't be completed because the file is open in ReMouse Standard.' The problem is, I've already uninstalled ReMouse Standard, so it shouldn't be open anymore.
I even tried using the command prompt to delete it, but I keep getting an 'Access denied' message. I'm really stuck and would appreciate any advice.

Don’t forget to reboot! If the file is still unmovable after that, definitely think about booting into Safe Mode.
Have you tried rebooting your PC? A restart can sometimes clear up file access issues and let you delete it easily.
If a restart doesn't help, booting into Windows Safe Mode can be effective. You can also look into using tools like PowerToys' File Locksmith or LockHunter to unlock and delete the file.
I typically use Unlocker when I face files that just won’t go. It’s pretty reliable for handling resistant files.
This type of problem usually occurs due to permission issues or a file getting stuck. Try right-clicking the file, going to Properties, and taking ownership under the Security tab. Alternatively, utilize a program that gives you SYSTEM level access through the command prompt.

Safe Mode is definitely worth a shot, and those tools can really help with stubborn files.
