Why can’t I extend my laptop screen to my TV anymore?

I've been connecting my laptop to my TV for a while, and it's usually a hassle to get the second display to work properly. Normally, I can duplicate the screen just fine, and sometimes switching to 'Second Screen Only' would work. However, now I can't get it to work at all, even though I've updated my graphics drivers and tried a new HDMI cable. Interestingly, I didn't have this problem with my previous TV.

It sounds like you're having some frustrating issues! When I try to use 'Extend' or 'Second Screen Only' I also get an HDMI signal loss. But as soon as I switch to 'Duplicate', my TV shows my laptop screen perfectly. It makes me wonder if there's a setting on your TV or laptop that’s causing the conflict. Have you checked the settings carefully?

Have you tried using the Windows + P shortcut? That usually brings up the display options. Sometimes it resets what the laptop is sending to the TV. When I hit that shortcut and select 'Extend', I often get a 'No signal' on my TV, which is super annoying. Let me know if that works!
