Why Can’t I Find and Delete Files Shown in My File Managers?

I'm trying to clear up space on my 2TB backup hard drive and ran into a problem. After removing all the files I could find, I checked with WizTree and Everything, and they both show some large files in F:$recycle.bin. However, I can't seem to locate those files at all! When I attempt to delete them in Everything, it doesn't work, and trying to navigate to the path gives me an error saying "Windows cannot access the specified device, path or drive." I've set full permissions and made sure to show hidden files and folders, but nothing seems to work. I'm really hoping these files aren't still there, but if they are, I need to get rid of them. Any suggestions?

Have you tried just emptying the recycle bin on the desktop? Right-click it and choose 'Empty Recycle Bin,' then refresh WizTree and see if those files disappear.

Yes, I checked the recycle bin and it's empty. I suspect there might've been one on the F drive once, but I can't find it now.

If you think those files might not exist anymore and it's just a glitch, you could try running CHKDSK on your drive to check for errors.

I already tried that, and it came back with no errors.
