Hey everyone! I recently found my old iPhone 4 which is running iOS 7.1.2. I had been using the Apple Books (previously known as iBooks) on it back in 2023, but after a while of losing the phone in my house, I forgot the password and had to reset it via iTunes. Now, I can't seem to access Apple Books anymore; it just disappeared from my phone. The App Store isn't working for me, and I can't download it through an IPA. Did something happen recently with the app that I missed?

Your phone might be a bit too old to run the latest apps. Using a burner phone for fun is cool, but don’t expect everything to work perfectly on it now.
You can still find Apple Books (the newer name) in the App Store if there’s a compatible version. Might just be that the App Store is acting up.
Tried looking it up there, but the App Store wasn't loading for me. Thanks for the help though!
iBooks Author was discontinued and now we just have Books on the iPad. I definitely miss the old layout, but at least it still reads ePub files. Makes transferring my stuff a bit of a hassle though.
I was actually referring to the reader app, not the author one. I thought the latest version would always be compatible with current iOS, so I'm baffled by its disappearance.
Has anyone tried logging into their iCloud account? You might find Apple Books in there if you had it synced.
I appreciate the suggestion, but we’re talking about two very different phones here.
Honestly, iOS 7 is super outdated. It hasn't been updated in over a decade, so it's really not surprising if some apps, especially ones like Apple Books, aren't functioning as they should.
Yeah, I totally get that. It’s just weird that it disappeared so suddenly since I was using it fine last year. Sort of expected it to still be there.
Yep, I know it's old! Just thought it was strange that Apple Books vanished.
