Why can’t I install Malwarebytes anymore?

Hey everyone! So, I'm having some trouble with Malwarebytes. After downloading it and starting the installation, it gets stuck at 12% and then tells me the installation failed, directing me to some troubleshooting steps. I also noticed that my usual Malwarebytes icon has turned into a generic program icon and when I try to open it, it says that the file can't be found. I thought maybe it just deletes itself after the free trial ends, but I can't find any traces of Malwarebytes on my computer besides that unresponsive icon. Any ideas on what to do?

The software doesn't delete itself after the free trial, so it sounds like something might have gone wrong. Check your Control Panel to see if it’s listed there. If it is, try uninstalling it and then reinstalling the latest version. You could also download it from Ninite—it's a safe site and might help you get around the issue.

I checked the Control Panel, but I couldn't find it listed anywhere. It’s like it just disappeared.

I suggest using Revo Uninstaller. It’s great for cleaning up leftover files or installations. Just make sure to run a scan after uninstalling to ensure no bits are left behind. Oh, and I've had a few issues with Malwarebytes, to be honest; sometimes it flags things wrong. Just a heads up!

You might want to run a malware scan first with a different tool, just in case there's something else causing the installation to fail. It's bizarre that you're getting that popup, but dealing with any hidden issues could clear things up for you.
