Why Can’t I Save Files to My Flash Drive Anymore?

I've been using this flash drive, which has both USB 2.0 and USB-C connections, for a few months to transfer photos from my laptop and Android phone. Recently, I started having issues where I can't add any new files. It lets me save files temporarily, but when I eject it and plug it back in later, everything is gone. This issue began after I tried organizing my files on my laptop, where I encountered a "0x80070570" error when moving existing photos. Although I managed to move some photos after using the repair option, they disappeared again when I checked the drive on my phone. Is my flash drive corrupted, and is there any way to recover my files?

It sounds like your flash drive might be nearing its end. Some drives set themselves to read-only mode when they're about to fail to protect the data. If this drive is your only copy of those files, consider using data recovery software like DMDE or PhotoRec as soon as possible to try and retrieve what you can—we recommend copying any files you can still see onto a different device right away!

I already copied what I managed to recover to my computer. Thanks for the heads up!

You might be dealing with a worn-out flash drive or potentially a counterfeit one. It's common with low-quality drives, especially if you bought it from an unreliable source. You could run a diagnostic tool like ValiDrive to check the drive's health, but if it's showing signs of failure, it's best to stop using it immediately to avoid any further data loss.

I ran it through ValiDrive first, and it said it was good, but now I'm worried...
