Hey everyone! I'm hoping to get some help with a tricky situation. I just got a new Asus desktop PC with a 1TB drive mounted on the motherboard, and I've added a 500GB SSD. I initially installed Windows 10 on the SSD without a hitch, but now I'm trying to install Windows 11 on the 1TB drive. When I get to the point of selecting the drive for installation, the only one that shows up is my USB drive. I've tried downloading the latest storage drivers from Asus and Intel, and even copied them onto my USB drive (both zipped and unzipped) but still no luck. Is this definitely a driver issue, or could there be something else at play? If it is a driver issue, where can I find the right one? Thanks a ton for any insights!

Is your USB drive set up correctly? Sometimes, if you made the installer USB from a tool other than the Windows Media Creation Tool, it might mess things up. Also, checking the boot mode selection is crucial. If you're booting in Legacy mode, switch to UEFI, as it's often required for newer drives.
It sounds frustrating! I remember seeing someone else with a similar issue where their BIOS wasn't recognizing the SATA drive. It’s essential to check your BIOS settings to ensure both drives are showing up there. If they're detected in BIOS but not during installation, then it might be a driver issue or a setup conflict with your BIOS modes.
I did check the BIOS, and both drives are definitely showing up there. So, it seems it's something else.
What are the specs of your PC? Knowing things like the CPU and motherboard could help pinpoint issues. Sometimes it's just a compatibility issue. If the drives are detected in BIOS, then maybe it’s just Windows being picky about the installation configuration!
My setup is an Intel i5 1400F with 16GB RAM and the Intel B760 chipset. Still trying to track down what motherboard I specifically have.
Thanks! I used the Media Creation Tool, but I’m not sure about the boot mode. I'll check that next.
