Why Can’t I Set My 4K TV to 120Hz with My HTPC?

I'm having issues with my HTPC connected to a 4K TV that supports 120Hz and Freesync. Windows won't let me select anything higher than 60Hz, and AMD Adrenaline says it's not Freesync capable. Strangely, my previous PC had no trouble running at 120Hz on this same TV. Both systems are using Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC and all drivers are current. Any ideas on what might be going wrong?

Have you checked if you're using an HDMI 2.1 cable? Most TVs need that for higher refresh rates at 4K.

Yes, I'm using the same cable that worked perfectly with my last setup.

Make sure to check which HDMI version is on your HTPC. If it's HDMI 2.0, that could limit you to 60Hz.

No, it's definitely HDMI 2.1. My graphics card is a 7900XTX, so it should support it.

There might be a setting on your TV that needs adjusting for PC use, or double-check that Windows is recognizing it correctly in the display settings.

It looks like Windows is reading the monitor correctly, and I'm using the same settings on the TV that worked with my old PC.
