Why can’t I set my Lenovo monitor to 1920×1200 at 240Hz?

I'm having trouble using my Lenovo monitor at 1920x1200 resolution with a refresh rate of 240Hz. Every time I try to change the settings, it caps at 60Hz and shows that the active signal mode is '3840x2160'. Right now, I'm stuck using 1680x1050. Any advice on how to fix this?

Have you tried using DisplayPort instead? That should help you achieve the 240Hz at 1920x1200.

You really need to check the model specifications of your monitor. Not all monitors can support their max resolution and refresh rate through HDMI, and you might need to use DisplayPort for that.

It sounds like the issue might be related to your connection type. Are you using HDMI or DisplayPort? If you're on HDMI, make sure it's a high-speed one. Sometimes, you need DisplayPort to get those higher refresh rates.

I have HDMI 2.1, so I thought it was good enough for that.

There’s a good chance that your HDMI cable isn't the right one for that resolution at that refresh rate. If you can, try switching to DisplayPort. It usually handles high refresh rates better than HDMI for certain resolutions.

I checked, and I have HDMI 2.1; should that be sufficient?
