Why can’t I transfer a large file to my flash drive?

I'm trying to transfer a file that's 9.46 GB onto a flash drive that has a capacity of 460 GB. I've only used 15 GB of space on the drive, but every time I attempt to move the file, I get a message saying that the file is too large. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on?

Make sure your drive is correctly formatted. FAT32 can be a real pain when dealing with files larger than 4 GB. Try switching to NTFS or exFAT and see if that works for you.

Definitely check how your drive is formatted. If it's FAT32, that's the issue because it can only handle files up to 4 GB. Reformatting to exFAT or NTFS will help. Also, just a heads up: there are a lot of counterfeit flash drives out there. Make sure yours is legitimate!

It sounds like your flash drive might be formatted with FAT32, which has a file size limit of 4 GB. You should try reformatting the drive to exFAT or NTFS. Both of these formats support larger files, so that should solve your problem!
