Why Can’t My PC Detect My Canon MP240 Printer Properly?

I'm having an issue where my computer recognizes my Canon MP240 series printer as just a USB controller instead of the actual printer. Because of this, it doesn't show up when I try to print anything. I'm looking for some help on how to fix this problem and get my printer detected correctly.

If you really want to stick with that printer, consider this—it's often cheaper to buy a new printer than to keep buying ink for older models. I’ve had luck with Epsons because they work well with third-party ink refills. Alternatively, you could create a live Linux USB to print your files. Just remember to save your documents as PDFs first, so they convert easily to whatever editor you're using in Linux. This isn’t really a fix but a workaround!

First off, definitely check Canon's website for the latest drivers for your printer model. Sometimes, Windows doesn't automatically find the right drivers, and getting them directly from the manufacturer's site can help. This way, you'll also get any useful tools or extra features for managing your printer.
