Why Can’t My Samsung S22 Ultra Transfer Files Over 4GB to My USB Drive?

I'm trying to transfer Windows or Linux ISO files from my Samsung S22 Ultra to a USB drive, but I'm running into issues. Whenever I attempt the transfer, I get errors saying that the USB is incorrectly formatted for large files, which is frustrating. I've also tried some third-party apps, but they either don't recognize my USB drive or just don't work. Can anyone help me figure out what's going wrong?

It sounds like your USB drive is formatted as FAT32, which only allows files up to 4GB. If you want to transfer larger files, you should reformat the drive to exFAT or NTFS. Those formats don't have the same size limitations.

That's true, but if you're having trouble reformatting the USB, that could be a separate issue. Have you tried accessing it directly from a computer instead of your phone?

Definitely the FAT32 limit at play here. You need to switch the format. But if your phone isn't letting you reformat it using any apps, you might have to try connecting the USB to a computer to change the format there. Just make sure to back up any important data first!

Good point! Just make sure your PC can detect the USB drive. If it can't, then you might be dealing with a hardware issue.
