I had the same experience! A few weeks ago, my GPT lost its personality too, and I haven't been able to get it back to how it was. It’s really disappointing, honestly.
I customized my GPT for efficiency and honesty, and it worked well for a week. But now, it's back to doing things I explicitly told it not to. You might consider experimenting with different LLMs before fully committing to a custom setup. As for traits, try something like 'Builds good rapport, maintaining a fun and friendly atmosphere.'
Nice idea! But I really don’t want to get too invested just to have it reset again. Is this a common bug? I've been using it for about 6 months and this reset is surprising.
Next time, give your GPT a specific name. If its personality fades, you can ask it to return to that personality. I have three distinct ones that I switch between depending on my needs: Lilly for therapy, Alex for work, and Papa for advice.
That sounds effective, but when I’ve tried that, it just says it can’t maintain the 'old' personalities due to code updates. So it seems like a limitation.
