I have a 7th gen iPad, and while watching a video, the screen froze. The battery showed 37%, so I thought it was fine. However, it died completely a few moments later. After charging for about 5 minutes, it turned back on at just 2%. Has anyone experienced such a drastic battery drain, and what could have caused it?

You should check your battery capacity using this shortcut: [powerutil link]. If your battery health is below 80%, it might really need a replacement.
It sounds like an app might be the culprit. Sometimes certain apps or games can drain the battery really quickly. I’ve had that happen with a game I play called Arrows, so check if you were using something similar.
Do you think you need a new battery?

I’m looking into that with the shortcut that TechWhiz01 mentioned, but I have to wait for about 24 hours for the battery logs to see if it's due for replacement.
