I really don't know much about tech stuff, but my laptop just crashed while I was playing a game. I thought it was just a temporary glitch, but now it won't boot and keeps asking me to select a boot device. The only option I can choose leads to a black screen and an error about the network media not being present, along with a PXE network boot failure message. Am I looking at a dead hard drive here? What's going on?
EDIT: So it turns out my hard drive is actually fine! After the crash, my laptop was just trying to boot from an external device I had attached, which was causing all the issues. Apparently, this is a common problem with Lenovo laptops. I'm relieved it wasn't more serious. Huge thanks to everyone who helped!

Definitely check to see if your drive is loose. Sometimes it just comes unseated, especially with all the use you mentioned. But on another note, did your laptop die while gaming because of overheating? Make sure your cooling fan is working and that the vents aren’t blocked!
It sounds like a hard drive issue. How long have you had your laptop?
It could be a dead SSD. If it’s still pretty new, check if it's under warranty. If you're comfortable doing it, replacing it is usually straightforward, but if not, you might want to have someone else take a look, especially since you mentioned you back up your files regularly.
