A week ago, I plugged in my PS5 controller to a USB port on my PC, and my computer automatically switched the input audio device from my headset to the controller, since the controller has a built-in microphone. Now, while I can still hear through my headset, the microphone doesn't pick up any sound, except it plays notification sounds from Windows and Discord instead of my voice. I've tested the headset microphone on my laptop, and it works fine. Currently, the controller is the only functioning microphone I have. I've tried unplugging the controller, restarting my computer, doing a system restore, deactivating and activating the microphone in device manager, and reinstalling drivers, to no avail. I even did a fresh install of Windows 11! What else can I do?

This might sound basic, but does it work if you completely unplug the PS5 controller? Sometimes, just unplugging and reconnecting your devices can reset the audio settings.
Have you tried unplugging the PS5 controller and reinstalling the audio drivers from scratch? Make sure to set your headset microphone as the default device afterward. If that doesn't do the trick, it could point to an issue with your microphone or audio port rather than the controller itself.
Just a heads up—it's possible that when you plugged in the controller, it caused some conflict with the audio settings. If all else fails, swapping the audio jacks or checking the BIOS settings might help, but do back up your data first, just in case!
