I recently experienced a failure with the secondary SSD in my laptop. It's a Patriot P310 with 960GB storage, and I bought it in November 2024. After 13 months of medium-low usage, it's now completely nonfunctional. I'm wondering if this is due to a hardware issue with the SSD itself or if the secondary slot in my ASUS Tuf F15 laptop might be causing it to overheat. Can anyone share insights on what might have gone wrong?

It sounds like your SSD might have overheated. A lot of users have reported issues like this when SSDs are in a slot that's not well-cooled. Have you checked the SMART errors? If the heat threshold numbers are high, it could be a sign that your SSD was getting too hot, which can definitely lead to failure. You might want to consider adding a heatsink or contacting the manufacturer for advice.

Totally agree, it seems like overheating could be the culprit here. 64 degrees Celsius is pretty warm and could definitely contribute to problems if the SSD was exposed to those temps too often. Could be a bad drive, too.
