I have a Windows 11 laptop that isn't the best for gaming, but it's what I can afford right now. Today, when I tried to play The Sims 4, it prompted me for an update. It then told me there wasn't enough space, so I canceled the update. Initially, I had about 13GB of storage left, but now it dropped to just 1GB! Can anyone explain where that storage went after I canceled the update? Also, I'm not very tech-savvy, so any help is greatly appreciated!

Definitely delete your temp files! It seems like the update downloaded but couldn't install because there wasn't enough space. Running a disk cleanup could help free up some space too, just keep your latest restore point.
It sounds like the update may have reserved that space by downloading some incomplete files. You could look for those files yourself, but honestly, the best bet might be to just free up more space. You gotta keep your SSD from being overfilled, ideally keeping it under 80% full!
Got it, I'll check my files. Just to confirm, I should be removing downloaded files related to the update? Thanks!
You might want to run a tool like WinDirStat – it'll help you see exactly what’s taking up space on your laptop. It could point you to unnecessary files that you can delete to reclaim some of that lost storage!
Thanks for the tips! I’ll try cleaning my temp files and see what happens.
