Hey everyone! I experienced a series of power flickers today due to a storm, and unfortunately, my new APC Back-UPS Pro 1500VA didn't keep my computer running—it just shut off. I bought it recently, after lightning fried my last computer, so I'm still getting used to how these UPS devices work. A month and a half ago, it was quality tested and seemed fine, but today was its first real test.
Earlier this week, during another storm, the UPS did its job and let me shut down my computer safely when the power went out completely. However, today was more like a brownout, where the lights dimmed instead of a total outage. I was at my desk when it happened, and I noticed the UPS switching between battery and mains power several times before my computer shut off. At that point, it was only drawing around 250-300 watts, and I thought I had everything connected correctly: both my computer and a monitor are plugged into the battery+surge ports. Has anyone else faced this issue? Thanks for your help!

Have you checked that your computer is plugged into the Battery + Surge ports? It's vital for ensuring it stays powered during outages.
Was the UPS still on during the flickers? It might be worth seeing how it reacts by testing it with a lamp to simulate a blackout without risking your PC.
Don’t worry too much! If it's plugged in correctly, it should work. Just be cautious about unplugging your computer while it's on, as it can corrupt files if you're in the middle of something important. I used to just pull the plug on my old machines, and they survived fine.

Yes, it’s connected to the right ports. It worked fine during the last blackout.
