I'm excited to try out Linux and I've decided to go with Linux Mint. However, I'm facing a challenge because my USB flash drive is only 1.80GB, and the ISO file is about 3GB. Is there a lighter version I can install, or are there any tricks to make it work without getting a new drive?

If you have an Ethernet connection, you can use netboot.xyz to boot it straight from RAM over the internet. It’s a handy way to get around the size issue! Additionally, if you set up Ventoy on your USB drive, you could access files from an internal drive, but that might complicate the installation process. Just a heads up—you’d need to pre-partition the drive if you go this route!

That's a gem of a tip! I'm definitely going to check that out.

You might want to consider using a lighter distro instead. Something like Puppy Linux or Bodhi Linux would fit on your drive without issues. They’re designed to be compact and efficient!
